Yesterday we went to Stockport to do a little shopping. Stockport is an open air shopping district. Apparently it used to be horrible with ugly 1960’s architecture- they’ve remodeled it and it’s very nice. I like to go to Stockport because it’s not as busy as going into Manchester city centre. It’s also a hell of a lot easier than going to the Trafford Centre Mall- it once took me 1 hour just to get into the parking area (I ended up driving through the parking lot and right back out). I avoid the Trafford Centre like the plague during Christmas. We had a lot of luck and Squidge is all taken care of. I picked up my new digital SLR (more about that later) and Wal is sorted too.
Once we were done we thought a nice latte was in order- oh and a bit of chocolate cake for Wal and I to share. Enter Squidge with her own ideas.
Do you see the tiny bit of wetness around her left eye? Ya that would be the remains of the tantrum she pulled because she didn’t want to sit in the booster seat and she wanted some cake NOOOOOW! After that little bit of excitement we all settled down for our lattes and cake.
Squidge also had her first ever ride on a merry-go-round.
She had a blast and wanted to go again and again and again. Luckily I’ve developed selective hearing. Once she was securely strapped into the pushchair I didn’t hear a peep out of her. Now the other shoppers might have heard a peep or two.
Wal and I had a fab time on our date. We had a yummy curry. We had wanted to go to a non curry restaurant but we didn’t book a table early enough. We went to our favorite Nepalese place and it was great as usual. They had Christmas crackers and party hats- very festive. We then went to our local pub where Wal almost got into a fight!! Some guy tried to push in front of him at the bar and he wouldn’t allow it. Little did he know this guy was a scary skinhead w/ 5 friends. He actually followed Wal back to the table and tried to start something. I had to get in between them and call the landlord over. SCARY! Wal isn’t really sure what happened. He thought it was just the usual crush at the bar. We were a bit scared as the guy had HATE tattooed on his knuckles. The rest of the evening I was worried he was going to come back and start something. He was very drunk and you just don’t know what drunks will do. I was a little surprised at all of this because we live in a very quiet area- no fights, shouting and loud yobbish behavior. Oh well it was still a fab night and we made it home safe and sound.
Oh and I have a meme (Hi Jenty- I haven’t forgotten) and I have some interview questions (Hi Laura) to answer. I’ll probably do them both tomorrow.
