I went to Ikea today.  Boy could I make a dent on the debit card in that place.  I picked up a table for Squidge, a shelf, a laptop stand called Dave (that makes me laugh) and sooo much more.  Even after buying all that I still wanted to buy MORE MORE MORE!!  I’m in the market for an arm chair, my favorite chair is a bit (lot) torn and needs replacing.  I’m trying to wait until the remodel to buy any furniture.

Those photos a from a few months ago- you should see it now, eeek!

At the moment it’s covered in blankets…

So that is pretty much what I did today.  Toddler groups start back up next week so I’ve been trying to keep us busy.  It’s been difficult as I don’t like going out when the weather is crappy.  The weather has been horrible, rainy, grey and basically blech!

Squidge is doing much better.  I don’t want to throttle her every 1/2 hour so life is good.  While she was sick she began to scream for no apparent reason.  It drove me batty and I’m not ashamed to say that I had to walk away a couple of times to stop myself from beating the living daylights out of her.  I can deal w/ her crying but the shrieking screaming was too much.  THANKFULLY it stopped once she felt better.  At one point I just sat here and cried because she was just screaming and nothing I did would shut her up.  Oh the joys of parenting!  Am I the only one that has moments where I have to restrain myself from doing something stupid??  I never have and never will (god willing) do anything to harm my baby but sheesh can she push my buttons sometime.

Ah, but do you go to Ashton or to Warrington? Are you a west or an east girl?!

I love Ikea, I could also spend a fortune in there!

I love Ikea to and always buy the silliest stuff there.

You are definetly not the only one who stuggles
sometimes, many times over the last few weeks with Eilidh being up all night screaming have i let frustrations get the better of me. I just put her in her cot and walk away for a few moments, she screams but its enough to calm me down. Motherhood is HARD

Oh, I love Ikea… too bad I can’t afford to buy anything! I am waiting until we do our remodel too. But ours is 5 years out. Damn.

I have blankets on all of our stuff to cover the ‘tears’. I know all about stretching out the usefulness of furniture for wear & tear!

That is one of those moments that says to me “Damn. That’s scary! Being a mom is super hard! I could never do it.” I’m glad you know to walk away when you need to.
