Sun! Glorious SUN!!

The sun is shining- in MANCHESTER!! Two days of beautiful weather. UN.BE.LIEV.ABLE. Yesterday I didn’t leave the house because the forecast called for rain and when it forecasts rain it rains. So even though it was bright and sunny I kept expecting it to darken quickly and torrential rain to fall. It never did! So silly me just sat in the house waiting for the rain. Today it’s even better than yesterday. We’ll be off to the park as soon as Squidge wakes up from her nap and has her late lunch.

On Saturday we went to Tatton Park– it didn’t rain, woohoo!! But HOLY JEEBUS it was freaking cold. I mean really really is it January? cold. I had made some cold oriental noodles and packed a bag thinking we could do a picnic, haa hahaha ahahaha!! Joke was on me thinking I could picnic in April in England!! Sooo I ate a bit of my noodles between chattering teeth and just gave up on that idea. We did have a good time though and will definitely be going back to Tatton Park. We’re going to get at National Trust membership so expect more stately home visits from Squidge and Co.

Tatton Park had St. George’s Day festivities.

In the bathroom renovation front we have decided on the bathroom we want and are choosing the taps and things. We’ll be ordering everything on Saturday. It’s all very exciting to me and I can’t wait to start ripping the bathroom apart. We were looking at floors for the living room and I’m leaning toward bamboo- it’s hard wearing. It’s also a sustainable product and that makes my wannabe green heart happy. Then I think hmmm carpets are warmer so maybe we should just carpet the livingroom. What do you guys think? Bamboo or carpet?

Did you guys take a look at the shutter sisters photos? Those women are amazing photographers and I hope one day to produce photographs 1/10 as fabulous as them.

i love hard woods. Our entire main floor except the kitchen and bathroom have the original hard wood for our house… at some point when we remodel our kitchen we will have to determine if the floor is worth refinishing, if it is we will have to have it matched in the kitchen and then refinished. If not I am seriously considering a dark stained bamboo.

so I say bamboo is FABU

I love hardwoods too. You could always get a nice big rug for your toes as well.

    Nice fun!

I say the bamboo rocks, and get some area rugs or runners.
