zoo choo choo

We really lucked out at the zoo this morning. We arrived at the zoo a couple of minutes before the 10am opening and left around 11:45.  We left just as the sky was opening up and dumped buckets(cats! dogs! entire herds of cattle!) of rain on us as we ran to the car.

Squidge had a good time but did have a couple of tantrums while we were there.  Turning 2 has pretty much sucked so far.  She’s intensly stubborn and is at the age where reason just isn’t something she understands.  Anyhoo, other than the tantrums (thankfully she got over them pretty quickly) the zoo was a success.

One of the first things we did was go on the zoo choo choo!  Boy did that make her happy.  The zoo is small so it took all of 5 minutes to go around and she wanted more *cue tantrum*.  Luckily it was short lived as some other animal distracted her.

We had lunch at the Bear Paw Cafe. Ya, I know. Where do they come up with these names! She was hungry but did not want any of her grilled cheese and tomato sandwich perfering instead to suck the ketchup off her fries.  *cue tantrum*.  I was finally able to get her to eat but I had to feed her small bits.  I don’t know if I’m creating a monster by doing this.  She’s always been the kind of kid that wanted to feed herself so this is new territory for me.  Although I have to add that she still does want to feed herself as long as it’s something she wants to eat.

On the way out we stopped off at the gift shop.  I wanted to find some fish stickers, for the potty bribes.  So she peed while we were there.  Luckily it was in the corner and I just changed her panties and pretended it didn’t happen.  Oh ya! I’m a fantastic mom!!

If you want to see all of the photos from the zoo just click on the last photo and it should take you to the zoo flickerset.

Also wanted to apologize for the quality of photos.  I can’t figure out if some of these photos need to be processed a bit.  Between trying to figure out my new camera and my Dad’s dodgy monitor I don’t know if the color is off on the photo or the monitor!

Cheeks to die for!! the way you self-censor or ‘critique’ yourself is ssso funny. You must have a great sense e of humor or tons of patience!! Are the stickers working?? She seems very grown-up. Is she tall?

How insane was that rain yesterday? It was surreal…on.off………on.off…….and just POURING. I’m glad you didn’t get caught in it. I got snagged coming back from lunch, and then again leaving for the day….not too bad though.

I love the picture of Squidge on the train!

glad to know it’s not the camera- It was sunny while I was at the zoo and I couldn’t figure out if I had my setting correct- I thought I did but then I got home and the monitor was showing them all a bit green. I didn’t want to process them because I had a feeling it was the monitor!

A lot of people have commented on her height- I think she has grown a bit. Will have to see when I get back and compare her to Caitlin! I tried to get her to stand still for me to measure- HA that was a joke.

Oh my god the rain was unbeeeweeeevable!! It looked like I had jumped fully clothed into the pool just from getting myself and Squidge out of the car.

I kinda lost my cool this afternoon when she pee’d all.over the kitchen floor with the potty not 2 feet from her. gggrrrrrr! She was too busy hopping and well I guess it was one hop too many!
