Last week I mentioned to Byrney that I was looking for a local waterfall as I wanted to practice my long exposure photography. She mentioned that there was a waterfall at Abney Hall Park in Cheadle. On Sunday Wal was supposed to doing the bathroom but the weather was beautiful so I talked him out of it. We went swimming then we headed over to Park. It’s gorgeous beyond words and sooo close.
We didn’t really know where we were going but we found a path and just followed it.
For a while the path followed along beside the M60. It was a bit loud with traffic noise but so beautiful that it didn’t matter. In fact I think the traffic noise is what really made me love the place. Something so beautiful could be found in Manchester just tucked in between suburbia and the motorway.
So we wandered along the motorway and little ponds. Watching ducks and listening for the birds. The path only followed the motorway for a little bit then it was back to being peaceful. We then stumbled upon these fellas.
They kept us company while Squidge played Pooh sticks with her Dad and I pretended I to be Pioneer Woman.
We continued to wander around the paths until we finally found the waterfall.
Squidge did a little climbing.
She did a little dancing.
It really was a fantastic day. Probably our last gorgeous day of the year. I’m so glad Wal decided to come out and play with us. There will be plenty of time to do the bathroom. If you want to read about our trip to Blackpool pop on over to Byrney’s blog. She pretty much said it all.
