DIY Update

Because a couple of people have asked for pictures.  This was taken on Monday and we’ve (Wal) done a couple more rows since then.  The tiles are mosaic(ish) in that they have a mesh backing- each ‘set’ has 9 small tiles.  Basically it’s not as hard as it looks from the picture!

I suppose it’s about 1/2 done at the moment.  Pretty much all of tiles that don’t need to be cut on that wall are up.  That’s the plan, get all the times that don’t require cutting up this week then work on the cutting tiles during the weekend.  So to recap we have the bath, toilet, sink and floor in. Another couple of weekends and we should be done-what do you guys think?

I found a house I like in my new favorite village o’the moment.  It’s a bit of  a fixer upper but in a fantastic location w/in an excellent school catchment area.  So my question is this, am I willing to put up w/ more DIY if the house ticks all my boxes?  The answer HELLS YEAH!  LOL thankfully this house only needs cosmetic work- or so it would appear.  The website only shows pictures of the livingroom and outside spaces- this is usually a baaad sign.  Ah well it’s not like we’re going to get that house as we still have to sell ours and by then this house will be looooong gone. Still, it’s nice to dream.

This afternoon I met Byrney & Co. for a bit of miniature train riding.  It was a bit drizzly at times but everyone had a good time. Squidge is being a PITA at the moment (always) but still we had a good time.

Seems that the DIY is a bit slow going. Here’s to hoping you get the house you want.

the DIY is very very slow going when you only do it on weekends!! I just heard the blurb on the housing market picking up. Keeping my fingers crossed this place sells fast!! I will def have before and after pics.

Noah is still going on about the train rides! And the housing market is picking up so fingers crossed you’ll sell soon after you market it, you’re in a very sought after location.

I’m so impressed with Wal’s handy work! I can put tiles in, but cutting them has always been frightening to me. You’re getting a move on!

Sometimes, I regret not purchasing a house that was a fixer upper. I kind of like to make it ALL mine, but I was pregnant when we moved and we were in a hurry. Regardless, we had the entire house painted and hardwood floors put in. I hired out, but it was still exhausting!

I like the PITA acronym – I haven’t heard that one before, I’m sure I can get lots of use out of that one 😉
