On Saturday I we held a belated birthday party for Squidge. As you’ll remember we were in the US for her birthday. I was little unsure what to do here but after chatting to my friend B I thought sod it I’ll do another party. I looked around trying to figure out what/where/how to get this party organized. I knew one thing for certain and that is that it wasn’t going to happen at the house. What with the smallness of it all; the unfinished bathroom, the 2 GINORMOUS Ikea boxes that are currently cluttering the already too small and cluttered kitchen, well you can see why no way no HOW was I letting people in here. B told me that Chiquito’s do birthday parties so there you go we went there. I didn’t know how that was going to go so I also booked a lane for bowling. I thought it all went OK- just OKAY.
The service was soo slow as the poor waitress was the only one on in the ENTIRE restaurant. Really unfair on us and on her as she was trying to serve our party of 17 and the other diners. Still the fact that I didn’t have to cook or clean up was a bonus. I wish I had ordered a second appetizer- I don’t think there was enough food for the adults.
I think the highlight of the Chiquito’s party was the pinata- again I think Chiquito’s dropped the ball when they gave us a jacked up stick to hit it with. It was bent/broken in a few places and after a good whack it just broke again.
After Chiquitos it was bowling time. Again fun for most but I think it just made the party a tad too long. I think everyone had a good time. Toward the end of bowling we had another medical emergency with one of the party guests.
Jasmine fell on a bowling ball and gashed open her chin BAD- like 3mm bad. Initially there was blood everywhere but it soon stopped which just made us realize how deep the cut was. Off to A&E she went. So for next yr just a word of caution- if I invite your kid to Squidge’s birthday party don’t be surprised if you end up in A&E. Thanks everyone that made it- Squidge had a fantastic time and we hope that you all did too!
