This afternoon I went and did something crazy. I signed up to do a 10k run. Not just any old run, nope I signed up to do the British Military Fitness 10k run. It’s a crazy obstacle course of a run on MoD land somewhere north of Manchester! I’m poopin’ my pants right now but also a teensy bit excited about it. I’ve been thinking for a while that I wanted to do something like this- a goal to keep me motivated. I don’t know if I’m going to be able to do it. I don’t know if it will be too tough. What I do know is that it’s going to be cold, wet, muddy and I’ll feel like a million bucks if I manage to complete it.
The way I see it I have 2 months to get my ass in gear and up my running. I need to start going to BMF 4 days a week. I’m currently going 2 days a week. Well if I’m honest I’m not going at all recently! I haven’t been since the Tuesday before Christmas- scheduling and then this freaky snow/ice/snow/-temp has conspired against me! This Tuesday I’ll be back at it no matter what! LOL, I have to be now that I’ve signed up for this crazy run!
Anyone want to join me? You don’t have to be a BMF member to participate! It will be fun! LOL! I keep trying to get my friends to join BMF but everyone just looks at me like I’m crazy. The thing about BFM is that it really is fun. It’s hard don’t get me wrong but it’s fun. I think I spend equal amounts of time wondering what the hell I’m doing there and laughing because I’m enjoying it! So come on take the plunge! I promise you it’s more fun that a boring old gym!!
