Men and women just think differently… I hope

Sometimes the difference between Wal and I (between men and women) is stark.  I really do hope all women think this way and it’s not just me!

Esme woke up screaming in pain. Her knees.

I thought, OMG maybe it’s cancer!

Wal thought/said, Oh it must be growing pains.

Therein lies the difference between the two of us.  He’s sensible and I’m crazy.

Especially considering that as soon as I thought cancer I had an Arnold Schwarzenegger voice in my head saying… it is not a tumor.

I always have the OMG its cancer panic. Either because she has an ‘unexplainable’ and for myself because “she won’t have anyone to do her hair on the mornings”. It’s the cotton wool thing, I still want no harm to come to my baby. Growing pains are horrid. My daughter had them especially in her wrists and shins. Horrid horrid.

One of the reasons I love blogging- realizing I am not alone! I don’t remember having growing pains but Wal says the same thing- awful awful awful!

The geekdaughter wakes up screaming in pain sometimes, usually her knees too. The roles are reversed in our family because I’m the one saying “I’m sure it’s just growing pains”, and he’s the one worrying about more serious stuff – mostly because his Mum and his sister both have rheumatoid arthritis, and he really doesn’t want it to be that :\
