Weeklies 20/7

The week that was… Squidge and her Scarf Girl. Ya. I don’t know either. I think she gets these ideas from Mr Maker or Art Attack. What I am certain about is that she doesn’t get it from me.

On Monday we had our kitchen windows and door replaced. To say I am pleased with them would be like saying the desert is a little dry… an understatement. They make such a huge difference in the house.  I’ll do a proper post when we get the front porch door done.

It has been really really cold this week and I took a picture to illustrate to my friends and family back in the US. They’re all moaning about the heat and I have a hard time feeling sorry for them when I am still wearing knee high leather boots… in July. In the Northern Hemisphere.

I found this lone rose blooming in my overgrown flower bed. The previous owner was a keen rose gardener. Sadly I’m not so keen or rather I don’t have the time to be a keen gardener.

Squidge and I at one of our favorite places. The coffee is fabulous. The atmosphere is better. The hot chocolate never fails to put a smile on her face.

I’ve been making an effort to try new recipes as much as possible. This one was amazing!  It was a 3 pro points meal but I added a bit more and made it into a 5 pro points. I’m going to make it again this week. It was that good!

unobstructed view of the back garden. Have I mentioned how much I love my new windows?

Another recipe I’m going to make. Skinny buffalo chicken. OH EM GEE it was so good. I mean really out of this world good. The recipe was from Skinnytaste and it’s supposed to be a 5 pro point recipe. Unfortunately Wal started the recipe because I was with Squidge at swimming so I don’t know for certain. I am going to make the recipe again and will point it to make sure because god damn it was good and if I can eat it guilt free it would be awesome!!

Last day of school is on Wednesday so I see lots of this in our future. Squidge loves to read in bed and I usually only allow 30 minutes of it. On the weekends I let her read herself to sleep, which is what you see she’s done here on Friday night.
