When you buy a house that requires a lot of decorating it’s a little bit like painting the Forth Bridge. We’re now getting ready to decorate our bedroom.  Our lovely lavender bedroom with teal curtains.  I know, I know you guys are jealous.  We are living the dream. Living. The. Dream.

I’ve been putting together some inspiration and I’ve made an inspiration board on Pinterest.  I have a vision of a sea of calming greys and whites.  I’m also going to paint the floor. The floor painting is scaring the living the bejeesus out of me.  I’ve never painted a floor before and I’m wondering how long it’s going to take.  What if I mess it up? What if it looks good??
I also have a thing for white bedding. I just think it looks clean and crisp and lover-ly.  I’ve been having a look around and found this set from Christy.

Christy's linen and bedding

Christy’s White Duvet £140 / Bed linen ££155 /pillows £100

What do you think?? With flowing white curtains.  Doesn’t it sound all sophisticated and calming and pretty?  I’ll keep you posted over the next couple of weeks as we start the transformation.
This is my entry for the Little Stuff and Good to be Home competition.

I think your plan sounds lovely – very relaxing! I totally ‘get’ your fear of painting the floors as I am in the middle of painting our staircases. We are going from dark wood to white, it is a painstaking and seems to be taking forever, but it will be worth it when it’s finished!

Good luck in the competition xx

I totally feel your pain! I have the balusters to paint and I’ve ignored it for over a year because it’s such a pain!

I love whites and neutrals. I think bedrooms should feel calming and serene. With a feature piece of furniture or beautiful focal point to tie the look together and give it a little dimension it will look fab. I’ve never attempted (or had the opportunity) to paint a floor but I think it will look great – good luck :O)
