Getting Fit

weight loss

This post is a long time coming. Over the past year I’ve been putting on weight and kidding myself that it wasn’t as much as the scales were telling me it was.   I was also listening to people who were telling me they couldn’t see a difference but when you see a picture of yourself you can’t keep lying to yourself.

This happened to me over the weekend while at BlogCamp- as the pictures of me came it was a huge wake-up call.

Well enough is enough. I’m going back to basics and doing what I did a couple of years ago- get back to Weight Watchers.  It’s time to resurrect Weight Watcher’s Wednesdays.  I’ll be tracking my weight every week and talking about what’s working, what isn’t working and what my triggers are.  I’m sure none of this will be of interest to anyone but me so apologies if I bore people to sleep.  It’s not just about how I look. I’m suffering from heartburn and that’s not something I’ve suffered from since I lost weight.

So the stats.

Currently: 11st 4.5lbs

Goal Weight: 9st 5lbs

My first weigh in at a Weight Watchers meeting is this Wednesday so I’ll update then.

Here’s to getting back into these jeans and more importantly to feeling better, to feeling fit.

    Lovely Lindy,

Good luck with your journey ahead. May this be a chance to reconnect with food, enjoy it that bit more and stay kind to yourself throughout. All I noticed from the piccies was how much Squidge has grown! Can I also just add re: the photo you hate 1. landscape pics on a D-SLR add about 7 lbs as standard 2. the middle person always appears largest 3. I genuinely meant it when I said how lovely you looked in that outfit at the weekend!

I look forward to following and supporting your progress. Hopefully this post can be a good point of reference for you. I know it helped me no end: http://lethereatclean.com/2014/08/mindful-approaches-to-positive-nutritional-change/

thanks for the lovely comment! I’m trying to not get all obsessive about it. Slow weight loss and lots of walking (thank god for dogs!) and planning on taking up yoga. All gentle things that will in the long term get me to a better place.

Obsessing is absolutely horrible and it’s great you’re aware how much you want to avoid that. Just back from yoga, had a brilliant time as ever. Add some dog walking to that and you’re onto a winner.

Well, I’m one of those people who says you don’tneed to do it, but I understand why you want to. That picture is a wake up call for me as well – maybe we can support each other 🙂
