A visit to River Cottage

River Cottage HQ

As you might have been able to tell from my blog I’m a bit of a foodie- I always joke that I’ll eat anything that doesn’t eat me first.  I love baking and cooking and reading about baking and cooking and trying recipes and and and I love everything food.

Sometimes the opportunity to experience something comes my way and I can not believe my luck.  The chance to visit River Cottage is one of those experiences.  I was lucky enough to attend the Foodies100 Blog Camp at River Cottage HQ.  I joined around 50 other food bloggers from around the UK. I think the award the the greatest distance travelled goes to Claire who came all the way from Aberdeen!

After a bumpy tractor ride down to the farm I got my first glimpse of the River Cottage farm house and I was giddy with excitement.  Once we arrived we settled into the yurt and we were briefed on what the day was going to be like and off we went for a day of learning about the garden and all the fruit and vegetables they grow at River Cottage. We made a yummy fruity soda bread with ingredients we foraged for ourselves and learned all about photography from the ever lovely Lucy of  Capture by Lucy.

All and all it was a truly magical experience.  Thank you so much Foodies100 and River Cottage HQ for a great day out!

Come back tomorrow for the soda bread and butter recipes!
