Brrr is cold outside! It looks like that lovely mild winter we’ve been enjoying is well and truly over! I do love to light a fire and get cosy during this long winters nights.
I think I might have mentioned in a previous post that we got rid of our very well loved red sofa. I had ordered a new one but once it arrived I really didn’t like it so I returned it. Yes I returned a sofa! I then spent weeks and weeks obsessing over exactly what sofa I wanted and then it was December and the January sales were right around the corner so it made sense to wait. In the mean time we’ve been making due with one of the small leather sofas that usually lives in the music room (posh name for the back room where we’ve moved the piano and the guitars, drums and other musical bits we own now live).
I finally decided on a sofa from Habitat in a grey fabric. Hoping I love it and it’s comfy as I don’t think I can go through this process again!
Our last sofa was red so I’d decorated with that color in mind and now the new sofa is grey so that changes things a bit. At first I was going to go for a grey and yellow colour scheme but everyone and their grandmother is going that so I’ve had a bit of a rethink. I’m crushing on grey and teal/baby blue so I think that’s the way we’re going to go.
I have this chair and rug in my Ikea basket and am just waiting for the sofa to arrive before I click buy! Also a trip to Ikea to make sure they look good together.
One of the last things we need to do in the house is replace the fireplaces and I’d really like a woodburner. I’m not sure if I want a traditional one or something a bit more modern.
Then it’s all about the soft furnishings and curtains. What color should the curtains be? I’m leaning towards white.
There’s nothing better than a hot cup of coffee, a roaring fire and snuggling up on the sofa with a comfy throw. These two are floating my boat right now and I need to decide which I love most.
