#Windowsforlife Dressing Wooden Windows

wooden windows

When we moved into our house- our very much of a fixer-upper house one of the things we knew we needed to change was the windows.  Although we haven’t yet gotten to the point in our renovations where we can do the windows it doesn’t mean that I haven’t given it a great deal of thought.  Growing up in the North Eastern US sash windows were and are standard.  I don’t think I even heard of uPVC windows (or doors) until I moved to the UK.  I have to admit that I’m not a big fan!

Some ideas to dress a window.

A Naked Window

If you’re lucky enough not to be overlooked I would say to do nothing at all and simply enjoy the picture you get from a window that is allowed to simply be.

Long curtains that pool on the floor are a look that really lifts a room.  The thing I love about curtains is that it’s such an easy way to completely transform a room.  From cozy in the winter with a heavier curtain to cool in the summer with billowy white curtains.

There’s something about shutters I just love. I find them a little bit romantic.  They add that bit o a classic look to a room and look timeless.  Add a few modern pieces to a room and they can look crisp and fresh. Such a versatile option.

Blinds, you’ve come a long way baby!  These days you can get blinds in every shape, size and colour.  Blinds are perfect for keeping out light while allowing the architecture of the windows to be on show
